    #311291 but made by Lee

Does Lee make a mold that is the same as the Lyman/Ideal #311291? And if so, does anyone know the number for ordering it?
    Thanks for any help.

There have been a bunch of group buys on this forum for similar bullets. I do not see such in the Lee catalog. Lee does make similar bullets as catalog items. If you provide the dimensions, Lee will make you a custom mold, but it will cost, and the wait will be extensive.

Lee offers their C312-185-1R which is close but a bit lighter.

My old Lyman 311299 drops a .311 diameter 210 grain boollet when cast of linotype. This approximates the original bullets loaded in .303 British and 7.65 Argentine.

For what caliber are you loading?

    Speaking of the .303 British,
Does anyone have a good load for the .303 in blackpowder?
I am already paper patching, now, going to the original black powder load might just be interesting.
I am already useing 40.4gns of Surplus 4895 with my loads.

Not that I can see if you're talking the 311291 Lyman, a RN 30-30 bullet @170 grs. The closest thing in shape in Lee is probably the 160 RN 308 bullet albeit 10 grs. or so lighter. The other poster was talking about the 311299, a heavier bullet. The Lee 312-185 would also be heavier. Nothing wrong with the Lee C308-170-FN. Been using this one for nearly 25 years. Still going strong.

It has been a few decades since I loaded black powder in .303 British with 311299 cast GC boolits. These reloads worked just fine, but made a mess of the brass, and cleaning the rifle was a bigger chore. At the time we here hunting the elusive tin can and these loads proved effective.

I do no recall the powder weight, I just filled the case to the bottom of the neck. If you plan to load a bunch of these, make a dipper.
