    Dad

    In Memory:

A thousand times we needed you
    A thousand times we cried
If love alone could have saved you
    you never would have died
A heart of gold stopped beating
two twinkling eyes closed to rest
God broke our hearts to prove he only took the best

I wish I could have just a few minutes again with my Dad. Thanks for the poem.

That poem is special as it appears only a day or so more and my father will also be gone. Thank you for putting it up, this is a rough time.

    Joe,

Please accept my most sincere condolences and prayers to you and the family.

I know how you and yours must feel. The last go around (bout) with my Dads illness, he was hospitalized for 45 days or so. But the doctors kept him with us for nearly 30 years. We praise them for that and the memories. I still miss him like it was yesterday, last Sunday its already been six years.

Nice poem! Keep his memory close to your heart and never forget. My dad would be 100 this June and my mom 97, I still remember their faces as if it was yesterdsay. Scot

A couple poems, remembering Dad ......

The day you left us was heartbreak and sorrow.
The day you left us we saw no tomorrow.
The day you left us we didn’t understand.
The day you left us God had you by the hand.
The day you left us your family came together.
The day you left us we remember you forever.

What would I give to clasp his hand,
    His happy face to see,
To hear his voice, and see his smile
That meant so much to me.

I think about my Dad fairly often, too.
He lost the battle with cancer in '97 at the age of 60.
Time moves on, and the memories remain.
On occasion, I think that I'd like to tell him about something, and can't in any physical manner.

We had a long talk a few days before he died, and I was there when he passed.
Lots to remember that I will never forget..............

    Father-n-law

I also lost my Father-n-law last week, he was a great man. Working 35 yrs and enjoyed retirement for the last 10 yrs. He was a heavy smoker but the Drs say that his cancer was not from smoking, but from his work place. Don, you will always be in my heart.

Sorry to hear of your additional loss Sprue. Thoughts and prayers headed out to you and your family.

All of the above are great reasons for remembering my Dad but I will have to add one more that I wish I could do. Sit down once again and ask a whole lot of questions I never thought about cause you would always be here to answer them.
