    Another with NOE

About 100 yards. The NOE 311165 Rf did the job once again. I use the same bullet in my 30.30 and 30.06 with equal results of bang, dead deer. I've killed the last 4 bucks with my 30.30 and the NOE 311165 but this year I thought the 30.06 needed some woods time.

Bullet is 50:50 soft lead and wheel weight. Most deer don't make it 50 yards from where they were standing. This one went maybe 20 yards. Once again thank you NOE.

Very nice buck, congratulations. I've not tried that one yet, but been thinking about giving it a go in my Winchester 94 30-30.

In the 9 years I have been hunting with cast the NOE 311165 has not been anything short of fantastic. This is the 15th buck I have taken with this bullet. About split equally between the 30.30 Winchester and the 30.06 Remington 700. The NOE 311165 is one great bullet in either rifle.

    congrats!!!

i use a 173gr Ranch Dog in my 30-40 Krag (1926fps) and every deer i killed went straight down (behind the shoulder, about 1/3rd of the way up). when i use my 444 Marlin, the deer jogs about 20 to 30ish yards after the shot.

Very nice! Perfect bullet and alloy for the job. Any pics after you got the hide off? I always like to see the terminal performance with various cast bullets.

Land Owner ! What a shame. That has to be a terrible job to clean up. Hope you can get out and put a couple more back in.

No I cannot do either. That dirty job fell to my beautiful spouse. She cannot get the stink out of her nose.

I am recovering from both Brain and Pulmonary Embolism surgery. I cannot drive nor walk well. My brain is Swiss cheese. Steroid keep me from drooling and living in a dumbfounded vegetated state. No guns or ammo, shooting or reloading for me.

OMG! Hope your recovery speeds along and you can get back in the game before too long. Best wishes.

The load for the 30.06 is 4895 @ 29gr with a dacron filler. I've never chronographed it but should be somewhere around 1800-2000 fps.

    NICE!

I just cast up a bunch of those out of #2 to work up a load for my "silly rifle" - a Savage/Springfield 840 .30-30 bolt gun - probably with 2400 propelling them.

It'll just be a jug buster for me, but I've been using the 178gr .308 Win version to good effect for the same purpose - that Ranch Dog nose profile is good at wrecking stuff.

I hunt with the same bullet in my 30.30 mod 94. 3031@25gr. Never lost a deer with it out of my 30.30 and trails are usually 100 yards or less. A lot of them dropped in their tracks.
