    Lube Casting Tubes

Does anyone sell bullet lube casting stands to cast cylindrical lube for Lyman lubrisizer?

Make one...apology ==> the pvc in this drawing is a single line and not shown double lined.

The wax is yellow, the interior edge of the pvc, 1.025" shown, is in the TOP VIEW.

The exterior pvc edge, 1.400" shown, is in the SIDE VIEW. The wax is admittedly too thick in the SIDE VIEW.

Pull the pvc with the wax from the smooth rod. They will come off together. Put the wax and the pvc in the freezer before pushing out the wax with a wooden dowel slightly smaller than the exterior dimension of the pvc..

I Honestly don't understand going to the trouble of making hollow lube sticks.
I have three Lyman bullet sizers , each filled with a different lube. Black powder, pistol and rifle.
When one gets low I melt lube in the Pyrodex cup and pour it in. The reservoir is then completely filled with no air pockets.

I made some molds from PVC pipes, was kind of fun and frustrating at the same time. Now I melt my lubes in small soup cans in a pan of boiling water, and pour into the luber. Then put the can of lube in a plastic bag to keep dust free. Much easier for me, and the luber holds more.

The melt and pour method is easier and less messy than molding lube sticks. So that's what I settled on also. That being said, the plans shown above work but I would advise paying close attention to the PVC tubing you use. Some have an inside surface that is not smooth and getting the lube sticks out can be a pain

I found a stainless steel frothing pitcher (used for froo froo coffee) at the Goodwill. Perfect for both making and pouring lube.

Pouring the lube in is the only way to go.

Very nice. A lot like mine. And it works extremely well. Particularly when you put the tubes in the freezer and push them out with a dowel.

Do you have any recommendations? What do you use? Have you done any "smoothing" of the inside of the p v c?

I also use the freezer. I do push the stick out with a wood dowel. I've not bothered to do any inside tube smoothing. Almost all my lube making is either olive oil and beeswax, or olive oil and paraffin wax. I use to go to a beekeeper and buy a bunch of raw bee honey combs and liquify it in boiling water after wrapping it up in a large bit of cheese cloth I get from Walmart. I made beeswax muffins to use in my future lube stick making. I usually melt a crayon of particular color in with the liquid lube to key what the stick is made of.

This is almost how I made my and works for me, I do not like the idea of pour the lube in the seizer because of the Oring . I stick with doing this way and works for me. When I make my lube I make up a large batch that last me a long time. I only make one type of lube and works for rifle and hand gun. . It works for me .
