    Oops! 00 Buck

Just got through loading up 50 rounds of 00 buck. It’s a 10 pellet buffered round. The data comes from Mr. Tom Roster. It would be load number 27 in Tom’s advanced lead and business shot hand loading manual. Click image for larger version.

Yep that’s the biggest thing that bothered me was the crimp was little bit of swarl but other than that almost perfect. Not always easy to do with buckshot!

Still can’t figure out how I manage that unless I picked up and spent primer and loaded it back in the hull after I sized it. Oh well anything is possible

Being the titewad I am, I’d pry that crimp open, break down the components, and start again with afresh primer.

Very hard to get a nice star crimp with buckshot, but you got one. Looks good.

At least you found it before you needed to use it. I remember doing that on a trap range when we had just gotten a MEC Grabber and were learning how to load 12 gauge on a progressive press.

We have all made mistakes or at least I have. That's how we learn to do things right by keeping our minds on what we are doing and how we are doing it. james

I used load 26 with single 0 buckshot and have the best patterning buckshot I’ve ever fired!

I suspect you will have a winner with recipe 27 as well! Stacking by twos seems to be a major factor.

Did you use the SP12 wads, or the replacement wads listed on the 2022 update sheet?

If that is the worst mistake you make you are a far better man than I am!

His recipes call for Precision Spherical Buffer if you don’t want to omit the buffer.
