    I did the same. Saw a 6.5 on sale under $300 but did buy it as the height of "it's a laser death ray" thing was going on. Nice, recoil good, accurate but it didn't do anything a different caliber could do for me so I sold it for more than I paid to someone else that just had to have one. T/C Compass I think it was.

    I bought two of those T/C's in .308. $225 ea to my door. The one I kept was more accurate than my M70. Sold the M70 last year as I stopped using it. I have the other but have not shot it yet. I gave it to my son one Christmas, but when he got married, he had to get rid of all his guns.

    When modern guns like the T/C Compass (add in stuff like the Savages and Rugers) shoots sub MOA, are in the $350 area, and they can be easily scoped, the attraction of a surplus gun for hunting or target shooting vanishes. If someone wants to own a bit of history, I understand that.
