I couldn't care any less about period correctness.
I've seen some pics elsewhere of homemade peepsites for muzzle loaders, and I'm sure I could probably make one, but would rather find one ready to go.
Any ideas or suggestions?
Thanks.

Guns should only be allowed in places where people don't want to be shot.
I think Williams Gunsite made one for the Italian Hawkins, 97.3% sure that is what I put on one of my Hawkins rifles as well as a buddy's rifle but that was 15 years ago and I've got geezeritis.

Williams used to have one that fit an octagon (or flat) barrel. It screwed into a wedge slid into the location of the std leaf sight blade.
Lyman makes one for their muzzle loaders that mounts to the tang. It has a wedge so could be fitted to those with different angles on the tang. I have one on my GPH and it works well. I also got a globe front sight to match.

This source has traditional (not modern) muzzleloader peep sights that mount atop the barrel flat for $25USD:

Tyrants use the force of the people to chain and subjugate-that is, enyoke the people. They then plough with them as men do with oxen yoked. Thus the spirit of liberty and innovation is reduced by bayonets, and principles are struck dumb by cannon shot: Albert Pike, Morals and Dogma
I just got them both yesterday.
I'm not sure which I'll use, but like most everything I seem to buy these days, there's going to be modifications.
I'll certainly post results when I get it figured out and test driven.
Thanks for your interest!

The muzzle loaders peepsight had a slanted piece of metal welded to the bottom which obviously wasn't going to mount on an octagon barrel or anything else on this rifle.
I ground it off flat and could definitely see that it would work with a bit of drilling and tapping, but wouldn't have any adjustment for varying the elevation, whereas the Williams would provide for windage and elevation, so I went with that.
I drilled and tapped two holes right behind the tang on the stock, leveled it, and did a rough indoor sight in replicating the same sight picture as the iron rear sight before removal.
I took it outside and took one shot from about 15 yards and nailed a can on a stump.
Tomorrow I'll take it down to my range and try to get it dialed in at close range, then figure out what it needs for 100 yards to start.
I made a batch of TP powder, but I'm afraid I didn't let it "cook" enough because it's pretty dirty.
I'm sure i'll do better on my next batch, or just stick with my cottonwood charcoal.
