That's why I don't like FB for knowledge things - forums are so much better. There is a FB group for the Chinese Shoepatcher sewing machine I sometimes post on. It's the only group around - wish there was a forum for the shoepatcher. Many times I've made a post, and never been able to follow up on it.
THIS forum is by far better than any FB group for casting bullets.
I generally avoid FB completely due to their anti-gun stance. If it weren't for the marketplace having basically replaced craigslist, I'd be off the platform completely.
Facebook reloading pages are the biggest collection of ignorance I have come across. Best avoided. Cast Boolits is the go to for correct info.
The solid soft lead bullet is undoubtably the best and most satisfactory expanding bullet that has ever been designed. It invariably mushrooms perfectly, and never breaks up. With the metal base that is essential for velocities of 2000 f.s. and upwards to protect the naked base, these metal-based soft lead bullets are splendid.

Forget everything you know about loading jacketed bullets. This is a whole new ball game!
Yes it is up. Yes, most on there have no idea. Some do and try to help but others just post garbage that has no basis in fact. Plus 20 for Castboolits
My IT folks advised that I ban FB access as a source for hackers, said you were always one click from being hacked on FB. So I locked all three of my commercial networks from accessing FB. My life got a lot simpler with them gone. Believe me, I have heard every excuse in the book, my answer is NO.

After a couple of Face Book experiences , I realized that it wasn't a good place to get information . I witnessed some dangerous and wrong things being promoted ...
I don't go to Face Book anymore .

I use FB for laser engraving info. Lots of junk on most of the groups, some are decent. It IS almost impossible to follow anything resembling a thread. Really worthless. But very few other resources

It's as bad, or even worse than, Reddit.

For laser there are two groups I mostly use: https://lahobbyguy.com/bb/ and https://forum.lightburnsoftware.com/
I realize the lightburn site is focused on their program, but it seems like most folks with lasers use the Lightburn software. If there's a different software that's good please link to it. Especially if it supports Linux. Lightburn has dropped their Linux support.
I dropped Facebook awhile back, but used to visit some of the reloading pages.
There was so much nonsense and even dangerous advice & postings, I just couldn't hang with 'em.

OK People. Enough of this idle chit-chat.

I use FB Marketplace to buy and sell under a profile that isnt me. I don't visit my personal FB page anymore. I'm on a Lee Precision Reloading Eqpt group on there that is OK.

Personally I prefer FB groups to forum more and more. Same with discord.....not much on reddit
Lotta old Gaurd good ole boys club mentality on the old forums and honestly it gets tiring after a bit. And Lord forbid you question the forum expert on anything.
Not to mention, I'm sorry but a lot of these older forums are just plain dying .
Also it's way easier for me to find people of my own age there

Wolfdog91, I admire your enthusiasm and youthfulness. I enjoy your posts here and appreciate you standing up for what appeals to you, even if the reason is “just because”
Sure the crowd is older here. Many here have travelled the paths you are traveling now. Things like powder coating are forcing some of the old fogies to try some modern ideas, even if it looks like fingernail polish on boolits. Some folks will never admit some things newer may be better...
Youth is wasted on the young.
Don’t put all your eggs in one basket.
Be forgiving and disregard the unhelpful answers and take heed to good advice wherever you find it.
I try to fly under the radar here regarding my age. I’ll blow my cover and state I lost a friend earlier this year who was four decades older than me. Life is short! It gets shorter every day. Use your time wisely.
The private FB groups that are specific are decent. Any public group or Reddit where any idiot can drop in and reply are the problem. I've seen more outright dangerous and flat garbage recommendations on Reddit than anywhere else.
I've run into similar on high volume forums where the staff doesn't slap down idiots idiot posting in threads they don't belong in. So when it's a mix of 50/50 seasoned reloaders and people who have never reloaded giving their garbage opinion makes a forum unusable for me.
Bunch of old....err, I mean experienced guys on here (I'm a pup at 55) but I learn something new from them every day.

using fake book at all for anything is sleeping with the enemy... top to bottom it is a total wast of time
