    I have a 22 LR that was converted to 22 Hornet,

    What you see is an early Springfield Model 1922 that was converted to 22 Hornet. I use .224” bullets and have no issues. They actually shoot better than the .223 bullets.

    The 22 Hornet was developed as a smokeless powder cartridge. The 22 WCF was a blackpowder cartridge.
