Owen this is not directed at you. You just happen to be the post above my post. I just went though most of this thread. Some very interesting and colorful folk here.

Sharpsman, How many times have you crashed? I have read that the average duster pilot crashes twice in his career, and survives both of them. The one that I had a chance to ask had the average two. I love to watch as the plane steep climbs at the end of the field almost into a stall, and then sharp turns back into a dive to the field for the next pass. I admire your skill.
There is no difference between communism and socialism, except in the means of achieving the same ultimate end: communism proposes to enslave men by force, socialism—by vote. It is merely the difference between murder and suicide. Ayn Rand

Attachment 165954 Have sat and watched you guys for countless hours down Texas way as a kid…buzzin the cotton balls…used to send a telepathic message to all the pilots…"hey, come take me for a ride!" Nobody ever did, guess the engine noise drowned me out? Until I started flying hang gliders at 26 I thought you guys just had 'all' the fun…not so!

At 66, I'll still stop and watch…talented pilots, these guys! OS OK

ZILCH! I've got a little over 24,000 hours of flying time doing ag work and NO crashes! I paid strict attention to detail involving maintenance which helps one survive and I always got my brain to the area I was going to work....at least one hour prior to taking the airplane to the field!! The reason young and inexperienced pilots get killed is because they have too many things to think about and their minds become cluttered! I didn't get in an airplane.....I put it on! The airplane has to become an extension of the pilots mind....such that he doesn't have to think of...."let's see....I want to go left so move the stick this way".....that sort of thing!

This one is a few years old. Taken somewhere in the Pacific Ocean when we surfaced the ship (yup I'm a bubble head) for a swim call. I convinced the Captain that an M-16 wouldn't do anything to a shark and I needed some more fire power. He wouldn't let me belt the ammo around like Rambo though.Click image for larger version.

There are two things that I want you to make up your minds to: first, that you are going to have a good time as long as you live – I have no use for the sour-faced man – and next, that you are going to do something worthwhile, that you are going to work hard and do the things you set out to do. -Theodore Roosevelt
