Has anyone tried WC860 in .45-60 with a .405 gr. Bullet? I found myself in possession of a Tom Horn 1876 today. I suspect it will be dirty, but safe pressures.
Any other suggested loads with this bullet?

The solid soft lead bullet is undoubtably the best and most satisfactory expanding bullet that has ever been designed. It invariably mushrooms perfectly, and never breaks up. With the metal base that is essential for velocities of 2000 f.s. and upwards to protect the naked base, these metal-based soft lead bullets are splendid.

Forget everything you know about loading jacketed bullets. This is a whole new ball game!
I’ve never owned a .45-60 but would probably treat it similar to starting trap door loads in .45-70. BP straight or duplex blend is another option.
That's a heavy bullet for the 45-60. Might not stabilize. I haven't tried one in mine, be interesting to know how that works. 350grainers work good tho.

CASCITY has a 1876 forum which also includes load data sections for all the 1876 cartridges. I found a lot of my 50-95 info on their page.
5477 is an excellent powder choice if you aren't going to shoot back powder.
not 45-60
but I used Wc872, similar powder, in my 40-60 RB, I used the 40-65 load data from the red reloading book from Accurate Arms, the only disadvantage is unburnt powder, in the chamber, I wiped between shots with just a nylon brush
shot same point of aim as BP, the advantage is it fills the case same as BP

I got a good load worked up yesterday.
23 gr. 5744, Winchester primer, dacron filler, 405 gr. gov bullet, powder coated. Shoots under 1.5".
I'm glad I have a good amount of 5744, it's over $70 per pound now!
