You might look into the MP 452-640 design. Not a round nose but the HP is a force to be reckoned with.

You should have a heart to heart with your weird gene - go weird for you and get a flat point bullet.

Here's a 410 brass shell on the left loaded with the mp Ruger only hollow point, oal is 2.93 they're 306gr with a gas check. It's crimped in the lube groove with a lee 45 acp taper crimp die. On the right is a 45 colt with a mp 454-640, which is also a good one that comes with the same hollow point options.

Similar to that RCBS bullet is Accurate 45-246H. I've had good results with it. Like that it has a crimp groove and meplat is larger than large pistol primer to be tube magazine safe. I load 7.5 grains of Bullseye in my Ruger Vaquero and Rossi '92

    Wolfdog91 do you have a 7mm mold?

You said in post #1 of this thread that you were on the hunt for a 7-30 Waters barrel.

I wonder if 460S&W dies would work for 410 brass?
    I thought I read somewhere about 9.3x74R brass for 3" 410 loads?

    https://ravenrocksprecision.com/9-3x74r-brass/

I found this place that has 9.3x74R brass listed as in stock.
I have never ordered from them before, but I did search for reviews and found several places that said they were legit and had fast shipping.
    So I ordered some.
I'll try blowing them out straight with a case full of grits and a wad on top. Works great for 30-30 to 375 Win.

I have a couple of boxes of Magtech 410 brass already. I think they have the Balloon head, so they may not be good for higher pressure loads?

Found 460S&W dies on Midway, ordered them also to try.
Now to cast some more 45 bullets...

I used a mix of 45 colt dies and acp dies. Used a lyman m die to expand the first time. I did anneal the necks in a lead pot. When seating I had to do it slowly as the die isn't large enough. Then crimped with a lee 45 acp taper crimp die. On the second loading I sized the neck with a 45 acp fcd then flared with lee 45 ACP die. I seated with my fingers and the used the loading bench as well. The ACP tapper crimp die works really well if seated to the lube groove.

I forgot. Make sure you have a shell holder that will fit the .526 rim. I had a 14 lee shell holder that was slight to small so I spun the cases on a fine mill file, I think I had to take .003 to .004 off.

Thanks, I will check on the shell holder.
I just got off the phone with my GunSmith friend, Tim Malcom( GoodSteel on this forum) he runs Malcom Ballistic Tool, MBT Custom on facebook.
Anyway, he has a 45 Raptor reamer that he used to build on a Savage action.
the reamer does have a very slight taper to it, but I think it will work and will avoid having to have a custom reamer made. I've heard the wait time on custom reamers is very long now.

His shop is booked pretty solid currently, but we've made tenetive plans to get together after Deer season to work on this.
I have a 45/410 Contender barrel and also a Rossi Brawler in 45/410 that we will rechamber.
If things go smoothly, I can post his contact details if anyone wants their 45/410 converted.

I think I will try the case full of grits thing to blow the cases out. It works pretty well with 30-30 to 375 Win.
