    I really like a lot of the songs he wrote, but he and Bob Dylan are much better off having someone else sing them. I am sorry that he passed.

    I'd say his real contribution wasn't his performances acting and singing, like Neil Sedaka, he was a great writer/composer and helped many others to stardom.
