Stevens Favorite 1915 made between 1915 & 1920 Kind of a Lever gun

    Guy's,
Bought this old Stevens Favorite 1915 22lr. to add to my stable. She was in rough shape but priced right. Thought if nothing else I would have her re-sleeved and make her a shooter.

When I received it off of GunBroker I was very much surprised at what she really looked like. She looked a lot better than you would have ever thought. I had already bought a new firing pin for her, luckily because she came with a broken firing pin. Cleaned the rust and checked the bore out. Good rifling and no rust just a little frosty not bad at all. Fixed the broken butt plate with a remanufactured plate and boiled that plate to form it to the curve of the stock. Sanded and fitted. Waxed the stock and took her out to shoot. She is a shooter and very pleased. I know it is not a high powered lever. But she does take you back to simpler times. I do not remember when I have had this much joy shooting a single shot rifle. She might be my favorite rifle that I own right now. I enjoyed her that much. Anyway here she is in all her old glory. CCI SV only for this Olé Girl

Excellent restoration. I've always wanted one. Still do. I thought I made a score at the estate sale of an elderly friend, but found it was a Stevens 101 in .44 shot cartridge. Probably more rare. I have yet to bag a bunny with it, but it has broken clay birds.

Nicely done, and good find. I've picked up a couple recently, rough as well.

rattlesnake post a picture of that 44. I would love to see it. I have fallen for this old rifle head over heals. I have several and do mean several lever action rifles in all different calibers. But this thing just has my fancy and hart right now. She just shows a lot of character and pretty accurate. She even kicks the spent cartridge out when levered open, which on YouTube you don't see that much.

Great clean up job! Have found that even with a rough bore the Stevens Favorite is a shooter. Enjoyable rifle to shoot.

I also like my 'little' rimfires, a 1915 Stevens, Remington No.4 rolling block and of course Martinis in any configeration. Picked up this "Zeller" martini in 44/40 last year; only one I have seen with an external hammer.

Hold Still Varmint; while I plugs Yer!

I have this old Stevens 25 that I picked up a couple years ago. Someone had it sleeved to shoot 22lr, lhe OP, Ionly shoot standard vel. ammo. It ejects the empties most of the time, and it shoots pretty good.

    BAW,
Never had the opportunity to even fire a Martini rifle. Maybe one day. I would like to eventually try one.

That is a beautiful favorite. When I bought mine they said the bore was bright with good rifling. If it wasn't I was going to have mine sleeved. Bore frosty but great rifling and she is a shooter. So they did not lie to me. Which I really appreciated. I am only going to shoot SV ammo also in mine. Probably stick with CCI SV but do have some Aguila also. But I use that for my target rifle mostly.

I have all new replacement parts from Jack First and ebay in case anything ever breaks on this rifle. It really is just a fun little accurate shooter. Just a joy.
