Scope repair

Looking for a recommendation for scope repair. Have a Lyman Super TargetSpot needing cross hair replacement. Thanks, Dan

I had Vintage Gun Scopes (in Montana) recondition an early 60's Weaver (sentimental reasons). They were not inexpensive, but they did a first-class job all around. I seem to recall that their service list of scope models was /very/ extensive.

There is a rather good book on riflescope repair by Dr. J. W. Seyfried,
titled, Guide To Riflescope Repair ISBN 0-934639-00-0.
Haven't repaired any scopes using it but covers many things to do or look out for.
It details most steps in replacing cross hairs and general maintenance.

I will put a vote in for Bob as well. He put in a set of wires for me in a jts, and they are just fine. Turn around time was fairly quick as well. As a bit of a disclaimer, I am a bit biased to Bob as I do a lot of work for him. If you sent him a scope that needed caps or perhaps another part, a good chance I made it. Caps mostly but have been known to make other parts as well.

Can Bob repair the original "Shepherd" dual focal reticle scopes made in Japan? The glass in these is awesome, but the turret parts tend to freeze up and or break

AK, best thing to do would be to email bob and ask, if he can't he may know someone that does.

I concur on The book mentioned. I actually had a long conversation with Dr. Seyfried a few years back. At the time the hardcopy book was out of print, and he added me to the list to get one. About 6 months later he contacted me and said it was coming out in paperback, and I ordered one. Good info!
