Besides I can use the same bullets in the BH as I do in the 35 Rem.

You’re right. They make the 350 Legend in a single shot and the 360 Buckhammer in a lever gun. That’s better yet, it uses 357 bullets

Don’t forget, that to get best performance from each, handguns and rifles should use different loads.

For you to say that I understand better now . Just that the buyer needs to keep that in mind. A friend of my got a Rossi 357 and he said it did not work the way it should . He went to sell it ,then the buyer fixed it and then sold it after . My friend found that out and wish he had it fixed . It is a lesson learn . They are good rifles over all .

I have 5 Rossi rifles and do not regret buying any of them. great rifles from the 92 actions to the 95 actions. Not one problem with them except using 38's in the 357 mag.
other than that which I don't care to use the 38's all's good with them.

Marlin / Ruger SBL, I have one in 357, 44 and 45/70 they are probably some of the finest lever guns available. I looking for SBL 336 in 30/30 and hoping they release it in 45 LC

I would love an SBL in 45 Colt and the new Guide gun, blued and walnut, in 30-30.

In my 92 I have no problems with 38s . What I shoot in the 92 is the same ammo in the BH and SP101. The only problem is with the WC . in the 92 . Need to load one at a time if use in it .

If you can, try the Henry before buying. I personally don't care for them and I do have a few Henry's. To me it is like the Glock issue, either love em or hate em ( I am in the hate camp, just don't fit me right). I have not tried any of the new Rugers as I am very happy with my JM Marlin. Good luck.

1st, you need to carefully evaluate the twist rate of the rifle you're considering for that 310 grain bullet. Every levergun that I'm aware of that uses an angled carrier is sensitive to OAL, ogive shape and meplat size. The 1982 action is arguably the stronger action over the Marlin 1894 or the HRA offerings. What I read in your "want to have" list, is that you're really looking for the Big Horn Armory mdl 90.

Henry's are homely looking. My old Marlin (pre lawyer safety) shoots like it has eyes. Never had a feeding issue. Look on Guns International and find a nice old Marlin 44 mag. Pay the piper! Second choice is the Rossi in 44 mag. Shot a nice 9pt whitetail with mine. The only problem is the Rossi 92 is a copy of a Winchester 1892 a rifle that is difficult to mount a scope. Looked at a new blued Rossi 44mag last week. It had a short barrel maybe 16" or 18" Good looking rifle but crate lumber for a stock! Too bad they don't buy some good quality North American black walnut for their rifles.

    Thanks
I need to save a bit more as I spent some of the gun money on a Leupold scope

I got to shoot one of the New Marlin 44 Mag rifles yesterday
And I liked the feel and it shot well at 100 yards
So that will most likely be the way I go

I own 2 rossi's and 1 henry. The henry is actually 44 but the rossi's arent. One is a 357 and the other a 454. The henry was my first levergun and has been nothing but bad news a crappy performance. It will shoot only one bullet, the 240gr jsp from Zero. It shoots it like a laser but really? Only that bullet? Forget cast. Its been back to henry 3 times. Their CS is outstanding, Ill give them that.
Ive tried I dont know how many bullet/powder/primer/case combinations and that jsp is IT. I keep it because its so pretty, and I keep plenty of those bullets and A9 on hand so I CAN shoot it.
You will hear tens of thousands of other say just the opposite so...
What about the rossi? Its a 16"trapper in 357, shoots any bullet I can stuff in it, cast, jacketed, heavy, light and in between. Beautiful bluing and metal prep, ugly wood and throws cases into outerspace. But, with a little of my time and a few $ I fixed whatever I didnt like about it and improved many of the already acceptable aspects of it.
The 454 has about the same story.
I hate spending my money on "cheap" guns, always have and never have, until those two.
Very confusing answer I understand that. It seems that anymore its just a game of chance and pricetags are not a guarantee anymore, at least not the way it used to be.
