    Foxtail

    Doves LOVE Foxtail seeds

OK This year we don't have a sunflower field to hunt
So we scouted all the areas we have permission to hunt
For natural food areas that the doves would target

Tuesday morning 3 of us and 3 labs got a prime area about a hour before sunrise
Not huge , only about 100 yards long and tapered from 0 to 30 feet wide and back to 0 feet wide

This area is next to a harvested wheat field
This area is not farmed as it is the start of a limestone out cropping
Also this area had a lot of small limestone rocks , so the doves also get grit for their crops if they want it

We set up 4 rotary wing dove decoys and 2 dove trees with 4 decoys each
I was on the left side
A little before sunrise a few doves started showing up
At sunrise all 3 of our phones alarms went off and we stood up
We each picked a easy shot and then targeted doves taking off from the foxtail

In less than a hour we were done
    45 doves
Not sure who killed how many doves
As all 3 of our labs just fetched to their owner regardless of who had shot that dove
I took a count and told the others I had 14 doves , 14 and 15 the others counts
3 more shots and we in total had 45 doves

Congratulations on a hunt where everyone got their limit! Sounds like a fun time was had by both men and dogs!
Decreed by our Creator: The man who has been made able to believe and understand that Jesus Christ has been sent into this world by the Father has been born of the Spirit of God. This man shall never experience spiritual death. He will live forever!
