Those flakes are just under 0.1" in diameter.

Not to hijack the 9mm purpose of this tread, but I took my 45ACP loads with MP254 to the indoor range and what a big white muzzleblast!

No worries about .45. I'm interested in all info on the MP powder. It has a lot of gas for sure, burns my eyes when shooting the AR9 due to the blowback from the suppressor. I sat it down after firing 5rds and smoke was pouring out of the chamber

The MP powder is very sooty. I may have shot 50rds of it. My suppressor looked like it had the bottom of a bag of charcoal in it. I don't think I'm gonna shoot that thru the can unless I can clean up the combustion a bit.

I wonder if you can use it to shoot reduce 308 or 300 Blackout Subs

Maybe. I plan on working up some .38/.357 loads for suppressor use with it in the near future. Probably after the new year if all goes to plan. I may play with the .300 now that I can keep leading out of the suppressor when shooting cast. I'm off to paint some .309" boolit bases.

I wonder if 300 Blackout has enough case capacity that the powder would burn clean and that variations in volumetric powder dispensement wouldn't be a big problem

One way to find out. I only hope those pepperoni sized flakes will drop thru the .308" case neck.

SB-620 on Gunbroker, typically sells for about $230 delivered for 14 Pounds.

9mm 5.0 grains 124 Gr FMJ =1120 FPS and cycles a Glock 17 just fine including slide lock. This works out to 1/4 of a penny per shot, despite the fact the price went up about $40 after I mentioned it here.......

Same ballistics as Federal Premium Law Enforcement 124gr. JHP Ammo

'check the effect of header paint on the bases' Hi temp header paint? Why? Prevent the base PC from clogging the supressor?
    Whatever!

Well, heck yeah it did! I loaded some 110gr plated RN Xtremes with 6gr of MP254. They did pop supersonic at 1300fps. I was using Blue Dot 32-20 data from the GDMR site.

Cases were spotless. At 25 yds I shot 3 shots and had one .30cal hole. I thought something way either really wrong or really right. I had 1 round left and taped the hole just to make sure if it was shooting in the same hole I'd know about it. It was. 4 shots in the same hole.

Imma bump it back to drop to subsonic but that load right there is a honey fo' sho' The first 3 shots were literally exactly in the same hole with no change in the .30 size. You can see the tape I shot thru where I moved it away from over the one hole group.

I had heavy leading from PC boolits in my suppressor. I caught some in water with PC and Hitek and both were completely burned off. I tested header paint on the bases yesterday and it prevented the PC from burning off. Here is where I tested it.

I prepped 25 110gr and 25 160gr boolits and baked the header paint for testing at a future session.

Most of that paint is ceramic, wonder what it does to the bore?

Nothing since it's only on the base?

So at 4.6gr the velocity was subsonic.

Unfortunately accuracy fell off. Dang it. I will still play around with it. Brass was clean, didn't open the suppressor.

Ha,ha I had no idea what a taco bullet was. Just searched it. No I don't have those. I've always gone with lighter bullets because I don't have to worry about cycling. Cheaper and less powder needed for subsonics.

I do not cast my own boolits. My FIL has always cast and shares with me. I've bought him a couple of molds on boolits he and I can both use.

    Those look great though. Accurate?

Yes reasonably so. The bulk of my testing so far is with the 150 Grain bullets and when I'm done with them then I'll shoot up all the 230s and then I'll have to cast more

I'm having a lot of fun testing them. I've done some testing with 300 Blackout and I am really enjoying testing with the 308. I'm shooting them through a Remington Model 7 with a Leopold 1 to 4 mounted on it. I previously had a holo sun two MOA Green Dot mounted on the top, I haven't decided which one I like better, I like them both.

I enjoy shooting this rifle off hand . The rifle is really light and is punishing to shoot with standard 308. It has a short length of pull which increases the likelihood of the scope cracking your eyebrow open. With the light loads it recoils like a 22 magnum.

It does not destroy steel plates and does not require special alloys. It's not especially loud either. This is very soft lead 1.5 - 1.5 - 97 alloy. I powder coated them with ultimate Chrome paint which is not as durable as other powder coats so I can't push it as hard but these loads don't require great strength and so these loads don't lead.

I'm getting about 2-3 inches at 50 yards shooting off hand which I think is pretty good. The groups get smaller off of a bench I fired 15 or 20 of them into about an inch at 50 yards. I've done three shot groups the size of a a dime from the bench at 50 yard and I don't think that small sample size is worth anything.

I am loading these with Alliant Bullseye and russian large pistol primers and RP 308 Winchester brass. I like that I can shoot the gun a lot and it doesn't get super hot. Three shots with standard 308 makes the barrel too hot to touch. I fired 300 of these over the past two weeks. I loaded more tonight with the Lee hand press. I'm going to have to mix up Alloys and cast and coat some more pretty soon. I'm glad for the change of weather the past couple of months it is just been too damn hot to cast . I used probably 3 oz of Bullseye tonight loading them up.
