Update to my tar stuck cases issue.
I have changed 2 elements in my BP load I mentioned in post #1.
1) My new lube recipe is working well. The new recipe eliminates the Crisco shortening, and substitutes in reduced quantity of soy wax and I’ve greatly increasing the quantity of Jojoba oil in the mix.
2) The Lyman 452664 cast bullet I believe was causing most of the problem.
I have substituted the Lyman bullet for Accurate Molds Inc. 45-260F. This cast bullet feature a classic ogive profile that has the curve of the ogive starting at the case mouth terminating in a fairly wide flat point.
It is the ogive curve reducing bullet shank diameter right at the case mouth I believe solved the problem.
I was able to fire 50 BP shots continuously without the cylinder fouling to the point I couldn’t seat a cartridge in a chamber rim down to the cylinder face. Which has been part the problems.
The previously used Lyman bullet has a wide drive band above the crimp groove which I blame for causing substantial increase in back pressure in the chamber throats (mine have been reemed out to .4525”) this drive band acts like a cork in bottle long enough to force too much bullet lube to be forced between case side and cylinder wall.
Some of the hot lube burned to a tar, formed a flatten blob in the cylinder and glued my cases tight to the chambers.
The new bullet and lube recipe have been working great for both powerful BP and smokeless loads. I will continue with this load till new issues reveal themselves.
