    Bergara rifles

I picked up a Bergara B 14 in 300 Winchester mag, it is free floated right out of the box, the pillar bedding is perfect and the woodwork and checkering are very nicely done.
My 180 grain Speer and 180 grain Sierra handloads both shot just under 5/8ths inch on the same target.
Two different bullets, two different powders and charges.
The Bergara fired casings fit into my Remington 700 in 300 mag as well, I can neck size without worrying about separating cases.
The only difference is the Bergara has a slightly shorter C.O.A.L.
I am probably now going to have to buy one in 308.......................

Bergara makes a good rifle. A friend bought a Ridgeline 7mm08 that wouldn't group under an inch and a half with any ammo. Once I looked at it, the front pillar was just slightly proud of the stock. After skim bedding it was around a ½ moa shooter with preferred ammo. Bedding is just one other thing to look at when a rifle doesn't meet expectations.

Friend had bought about 7 different types of ammo trying to find a load the rifle liked. None were acceptable. After bedding most or all the ammo was an inch or less.

I have two, 450 Bushmaster and 6.5 Creedmore, both are sub MOA.

Deface the gun in someway so you are not tempted to sell or trade. Sure wish I had done that as a greenhorn and too much money for my own good!

Bergara's are way out of my money range but if I had the money I would love to have a .308 Win. to see if they are as good as people are saying they are. james

I have had a 6.5 CM Bergara Ridge for a while.

    No flies on that.
