    New 10-22 Bolt

After getting the bolt out of my 10-22 ( https://castboolits.gunloads.com/sho...ing-10-22-bolt ) I took the bolt out of a new 10-22 bought in April 2024 which is different than the 80's bolt. The new design goes in and out easier than the old one so think I will buy a new after market one. I am looking at a KIDD and a Volquartsen Competition, is there any advantage other than cost and the Volquartsen looks easyer to install and take out?

Looks like the rabbit hole is getting bigger.

You might consider breaking out your calipers and figuring out what the dimensional difference is between the new OEM bolt vs the old. May this be a situation where a few swipes of a file solves the problem?

Also, if a current production factory bolt does the deed why not contact the factory? Given Ruger's very respectable customer service record, there seems a good chance of solving this without spending money.
    WWJMBD?

I've looked at bolts for a binary trigger 10/22 build I've been thinking about. Some claim better headspacing, etc. but I feel the biggest advantage is in coatings. I know DLC BCG's in AR's are helpful for running with minimal lube and are easy to clean, so I imagine rimfire bolt with its accompanied increase in grime would only benefit more.
