    Pentax or burris??

I bought a rifle several years ago that has this scope on it and I removed it when I sold it. I got to looking at it and although it is marked Pentax, it looks for all the world like a Burris. It is a 1.5-4x and I really like low powered compact scopes but the camo finish is a bit much foe my taste. My question is does anybody have a Burris like this and will paint stripper harm it to get the camo off.??

Krylon BBQ flat black spray paint will do it.
    Carefully mask the lenses first.
I’m not sure but I don’t think that it’s a Burris- but I do see the resemblance.
When Pentax was selling scopes, Burris was still made in the USA.
    I think.

This was made in the Philippines as are Burris scopes are now. The glass is very clear and it has a ton of eye relief. I put it on my sons 45/70 and it performed great in spite of the fact that he likes it warm/hot. When he sold it I rescued it again.

Put it on a 30/30, 35 REM or 38/55 and be happy. It’s a good scope, get used to the beautiful camo.

Yep, that's the first thing that came to mind. It would make a fine lever gun scope for hunting in the thicker stuff. The glass is super clear and it is better in the twilight than I thought it would be. as far as the beautiful camo.....I think it will need to grow on me.

I would be afraid that paint stripper would damage O rings and/or seals and cause it to leak its nitrogen. If I could not get forgiving of te camo I would paint without the use of stripper. Maybe rough up surface with a fine scotch bright pad.
