    7-30 Waters update

I posted a few weeks ago on how to fire form 30-30 brass for my buddy’s 7-30 W TC. First time ever fire forming anything.

After fire forming, I loaded some test rounds using 139 gr interlocks and 34.5 grs of Accurate 2460. That proved to be the ticket.

It shot sub MOA without even trying.

Great job ! I am developing a load for my 7-30 handi I built and you seem to hit a great load for the TC. That velocity is very good also. Jedman

I settled on 34.5 grs of accurate 2460.

Blood Trail could you post a Link to the other thread for the Fire Forming? I have just freed up some time and I have a 7-30 JDJ barrel that I need to learn to fireform cases for it. Planning to use 30-30 cases and the Corn Meal method but need to figure out what powder charge and any other case prep work that need doing. I assume they need Annealing.

Considering that 6.5x55 Swedish factory 140 grain loads are 2500 fps or so- that is impressive.
It is a neat cartridge that I’ve found no negatives on- except factory brass availability….Hello Starline?

    Not sure, but I believe it’s a 16” barrel?

I have a model 94 XTR ae with 24" bbl. Great deer rifle. Easy case to fireform.
