Winger, do you have any idea how old those mountains are? When they were new they were almost certainly higher than the Himalayas are now. How long does it take for that much mountain to wash away? All of the coastal plain and continental shelf were made from those mountains. Roughly 250 million years according to my geologist wife.
And no, they were made by the collision of two continents back then.
