    Looking good!
Old enough to know better, young enough to do it anyway!

Since we're on the subject of small (but serious) cannons:

Small one I built a couple years ago. Bronze, 13" including cascabel, .625 bore. Ton of fun using it to snipe crab buoys in the Chesapeake Bay from off of my buddy's dock. Proof tested it with 120 grains FFg and two .610 balls and a loooong fuse, shattered a cinder block at a range of four feet into golf ball sized pieces. Everyday load is 40 grains FFg and .610 ball.

Have the blueprints for a scaled down British 24-Pounder, 16", .750 bore, 2 5/8" diameter at the breech. Will turn & bore it after I take the big gulp and fork over approximately $400-500 for the chunk of manganese bronze....

Golf ball mortar, I turned from a chunk of Mack truck axle. 40 grains FFg is enough to hit a 100 yard target with surprising accuracy. Guy at the driving range as I bought a second bucket of used golf balls in as many weeks - "Man, is your swing getting any better with all that practice?"
