Custom Gun Shop - Hamilton, Montana

Anyone done business with these folks? They carry factory original Sako recoil pads and also offer an installation service.

Not myself personally - but a cousin had a good bit of rifle restoration done there. He is quite happy with the work.

Even better they charge another C note if you want them to install, plus the shipping. But then I don’t know of anyone competent to fit and install it around here. Far and away the best rifle I own, it’d be a shame to have someone butcher the stock putting it on. I’m not in the habit of making frivolous purchases but this one is special to me.

7 mm REM mag. Really too pretty to hang in the pickup’s rear window but I did take a black bear, a couple whitetails and a slew of prairie dogs with it. Kind of brutal to shoot prone with a crumbling recoil pad.
I may not get much opportunity to hunt with it again but the SIL will.

What an amazing rifle - she definitely deserves the few green pieces of paper you will need to exchange to get her back in her dancing dress!

Any price for quality work is a better deal than saving a few bucks on a bubba job.

Almost moved to Hamilton about 35 years ago. Bet it has changed quite a bit since then. Pretty small when I was there.

Thats a fine Rifle there BMI. I used to dust wood chucks in my younger days with a 7 mag loaded with 100g Hornady HPs, Side shots would about split them in 2. We used to own the now gone Hamilton motel back in 78. With the Buffalow Saloon and Sleeping Child hot springs gone, things have gone south. Not to mention Lake Cuomo's black top race track for the dirt trail compromised. Is Blodgot canyon range still operable ? Loved that 300 yard step out there. One of the best ranges I ever played on. Had a great time out there in the 70s. The Best......
