There are 2 fairly nice examples on GunBroker right now, one is at $750, the other $1050. Neither have any bids.

Bluebook is for gun stores IMO- seldom works that well for buyers. never thought a book could fairly tell me a guns value, even one in lessor condition as prices is all about desireabliity and what someone will pay..Hang around gun shows proves this out..

the blue book is kind of fun to read, but the prices I've seen in it can be rather optomistic.

When I am curious about a gun's value, I cruise through the various auction sites and see what is going on there.
I think you have to pay a nominal fee to Gunbroker to be able to access what items actually sold for though.

In some cases the Blue Book value is way above or way below current market values. It depends on whether the item is hot or not!

I have a Gunbroker account and can choose to view current offerings or past auctions.

jmho - blue book is very over rated + is not a true indicator of values - especially when taking into account regional demand differences in values -

The Blue Book (BB) is merely a guide. As a longtime appraiser for local lawyers, I need to say the BB offers a starting point. I have appraised hundreds of gun collections and I found gun owners most often escalate the condition of their arms and potential buyers downgrade the condition.

Condition is a subjective OPINION and many factors are involved. The BB is a good starting point, but other factors enter in. The value of any gun is whatever a willing buyer will pay a willing seller.
I have seen it go both ways. The BB is not all bad, it just is not the final price point.

    Be well.

The value of an object is what that object will sell for. Asking prices and selling prices are usually quite different. I should have bought a truck load of Swedes when they were 69.00 apiece. Ah the good old days.
