Recommend me an inexpensive thermometer for my LEE 4-20 pot
The Lyman digital a good option?
Update:
To late (lol)
I got impatient and ordered it from Amazon, will be delivered tomorrow
It got great reviews.

Let us know if it lives up to the reviews.
They are probably all made in the same factory in China. Just that Lyman and RCBS increase the price by putting their names on it.

I have had one for a couple years and it is accurate. Reads the same as my mag 25. checked it in boiling water and it was on at 210*
Good price but I've only used it once. Time will tell.

3", 4",5" Dial Stem Thermometer bi metal. I never had any luck with these I have several and after one or so uses they are inaccurate. I gave up on trying to calibrate a couple that I have.
Personally, I have never experienced the need for a lead thermometer. I just let the cast bullets tell me if it is too hot or not hot enough.
Well, I'm using it now.
When my LEE 4-20 is half full and set at only #3.5 it says my pot is 775.
If I turn it to #4, it goes above 800.
I have no other thermometer to check it against, but that just seems wrong.
My mold is hot but I'm getting wrinkles in the bullet nose.
Suggestions?

Took the temp number on the pot to
4.25. Added 1 pound of lino type to 12 pounds of range lead, this is lead from Kathie (The Captain).
Lyman thermometer says 770 degrees.
Anyways, casting good now.

Build a PID controller for less than $50.00 and be done with it.
You can order the Rex c-100 with the solid state relay and a thermocouple from Aliexpress for $13.00.
I change the thermocouple for one with a longer probe for another $10.00.
I've built a few and they work.
