    Hi Point 4095 .40 S&W carbine

Anybody have experience with these? I'm already set up to cast and load .40's but I don't care for the round in handguns. Would it be any special trick to get black powder .44-40 power level out of the 4095?
    Currently casting and loading: .32 Auto, .380 Auto, .38 Special, 9X19, .357 Magnum, .257 Roberts, 6.5 Creedmoor, .30 WCF, .308 WCF, .45-70.

If the .40 is lacking for you, why not buy the 10mm version? I have a 995 that I have been happy with.

I already have lots of .40 brass. The .40 is not lacking for me, in fact I find it unpleasant in handguns. I would think it to be dandy in a carbine though, and should duplicate the original .38-40 and .44-40.

IIRC those carbines are OK with +P loads.

Check the loading manuals and they will give you a good idea of what you can expect.

    You may this informative:

BTW, the longer barrel will allow you to use slightly slower powders and that will up velocity a tad over common pistol loads.

Love mine! Right now it is a bit out of reach, it moved from Fargo ND to Richlands North Carolina with my daughter and son in law.
Have shot the 9mm, the .40sw and the .45acp quite a bit. Of them all the .45 seems to be the most accurate.
But I will never forget the look on my wifes face (or the ear to ear grin) after she emptied the mag on the .40 into a 1" circle at 20 feet.

"I like the gun, but I love that red dot thing. It is awesome, wherever it is when you pull the trigger is where the bullet goes. Do they make one like this
that does not bump my shoulder so hard?"

A month later she had 2 in 9mm to play with, both with Red Dot sights.

    Good guns, love mine.
I truly believe we need to get back to basics.

Awesome, sounds good. You use boolits in yours?

Mine have yet to see any ammo but cast boolits.

I do have a box or 2 of .45acp factory loads but they are reserved for the SA 1911.

Moderate loads of Red Dot work fine in all of them thus far.
