    .38-56

    Hello All,
I've been working with a Win. 1886 in 38-56. Any one out there in Castboolit Land have any luck finding loading data for said cartridge?
Any favorite loads with cast bullets. My groove dia. is .375 and twist is 1:18.
I do have half a dozen bullet moulds for this rifle and I have a C. Sharps rifle on order.

    Thanks.
    Gary

I shoot mine regularly in the 200 meter lever silhouette matches. I load IMR-3031 under a 275gr GC bullet. I use 1/2 grain of loose Dacron to keep the powder in place. It makes the difference. The mold casts 0.380" and the size is needed for accuracy. Small diameter bullets shotgun everywhere.

Case full of ffg and a lyman 375449 280gr gc bullet works well in my win 86. For smokeless same bullet with 33gr h4895.
