I picked up a 1909 Argentine carbine yesterday. A quick clean up and it has a great looking bore so hopefully its as good a cast 314299 shooter as my 1891 rifle.

Love those Argentine Mausers! Can’t tell you how many I have had. Still have my sweet shooting 91 Argy. I too use the 314299 mould.

Very nice! Looks like the Cavalry version. I have the other carbine version and find the barrel length to be quite comfortable to shoot. 314299 is a great bullet for the 1909. nice find!

7.65x53 is one of my favorite cartridges. I have a 1908 Brazilian Mauser sporter with a 1909 Argentine barrel on it. It shoots great. Another boolit that shoots really well (in my rifle) is the #311284. I powder coat it and size it to .312". It shoots into one ragged 3/4" hole at 50 yards with this bullet. Still another option is the 155 grain and 160 grain Lee bullets designed for the 7.62x39. These make some low cost and low recoil plinker and practice ammo.

I have no gun "needs", but this is one of my "wants".

When I bought a bunch of my stuff from an estate sale two years ago, they had a bunch of them for 100 bucks apiece and I can’t believe I didn’t buy one! There was just too much to buy! I did end up with some really good other guns, and some old war guns.

I've got an '09 'Engineer' carbine that's one of my favorite milsurp 'shooters'. Lee 312-185 PC'd and sized .313 over 24-25 gr. 4198 will pretty much match ball ammo accuracy @ 100 yds.

Not that it matters quality wise- but is your 1909 Mauser DWM or FMAP manufacture?

Loaded some powder-coated Lee 312-185 2Rs over CE Harris's classic 16 grains of 2400 today for the DWM 1891. Soon. Very soon.
