    Texas grips

Anyone ever try the "Texas Grips" extended grip on a Ruger Blackhawk?

It extends the grip panel 1/2" longer on the Blackhawk XR3-red frame.

No, but I’d sure like to. My pinky finger gets tired of hanging out in the breeze!

I have their extended grips on my Uberti 7 1/2" cavalry 45 Colt. The Uberti is not strong enough for "Ruger only" loads but the grips still help when shooting full power standard pressure loads.

Yes, they are very very nice.

And the Security Six grips are sweet too.

I like the extended grip but find the increase in lateral width substantially negates the advantage.

Not a Ruger Blackhawk but I did get a set of stocks / grips from Texas Grips made for a Security Six and was very happy with them. Fit and finish were excellent. I called and spoke with the owner ( Henry Lance, nice fellow ) beforehand and told him exactly what I wanted and they ended up being exactly what I needed. Delivery time was short ( about 2 weeks ! ) and very reasonable cost. If I were to need any more stocks made I wouldn't hesitate to use Texas Grips again.

Odd that they only make grips for the low back Security Six.

They were only in production a couple of years.
