I have a couple of rifles and pistols that had 1/16" brass pins.
I redrilled the holes to 3/32" and put in 3/32" brass pins.
    That way ,
If I need to pull out the barrel.
I use a 1/16" steel pin driven by a wood mallet.
5/64" brass pins also work very well also with the 1/16" steel pin as a driver.
I just use a 1/16" piano wire about 3" long for my drive pin.

I called TVM. They say they have never soldered a sight - but also did say that it could come out either way - no guarantee right to left or left to right. Pounded on it left to right and it still hasn't moved.

Have you tried warming up the sight or barrel with something like a heat gun.
    That could help.
I have had to use a propane torch on a few rifles because the sight for some reason was rusted in place.
Are you clamping the barrel in a vise to make it stable and help direct the force as you use the hammer and punch.

right now I have the rifle vertical and stabtilized in a light vice. I'll have to take it out to the garage to actually put it securely in a vice.
