CVA sigle shot scout TD 45-70

With the muzzlebreak, Did it come with a thread protector if you want to remove the muzzlebreak?
What do you think of the muzzlebreak?

Looking at the CVA website, I don't think the single shots are going to be around much longer. They've pared it down to just three models and all are listed as out of stock.
    Currently casting and loading: .32 Auto, .380 Auto, .38 Special, 9X19, .357 Magnum, .257 Roberts, 6.5 Creedmoor, .30 WCF, .308 WCF, .45-70.

Mine did and I have no intention of ever using it, so if you want you can have it

There is a good youtube on how to tighten the fore end , there's a set screw that adjusts with a small metric Allen key.

Thanks for the replies. I'm not really planning on more than trapdoor level loads, but does anyone know What type of loads these single shots can handle?

CVA says 40K max pressure, same as Marlin. This works for me as I scored a bunch of Accurate 1680 powder - for which there is no 45-70 load data I can find. I CAN find load data for 450 Bushmaster, which is the same pressure level. Pressure which would be too much for a trapdoor, which is probably why its not listed.
    Currently casting and loading: .32 S&W Long, .38 Special, 9X19, .357 Magnum, .40 S&W, .45 ACP, 10mm, 44 Special 44 Magnum. .223, 7.62x39, 7.62 x 54R, .30-06, 45-70, .32, .36, .44. .45. .50. .54. .58 and .60 round ball and various minies. And .375 heel crimped conical for those .36 conversions . KB6MRP on Discord

If I'm not mistaken, the .450 has lower case volume so that data should be perfectly fine in a strong .45-70.

    I got 10 Lb of WC680 from Shady Grady for $150 (plus shipping) WC680 = Alliant 1680

At 32 grains per round, I can load 2,200 round of 45-70 with it. Maybe more, I'm going to start out with something like 20 grains and work up, this powder is 33 years old and from a "test lot" so it most likely differs from modern powder one way or the other. But it has no odor and looks like it was made yesterday.

The only published data for this that matches anything I have is for 7.62x39
