Blue Line Pump - Remington 870 Clone

I've read several reviews on this inexpensive pump so decided to pick one up. They are getting good reviews as to quality in respect to Remington 870's and supposedly many parts are interchangeable. Universally there is a comment made that barrels will not interchange and the gun comes with a cylinder bore 18.5" barrel with a bead.

Well, having a couple of spare 870 barrels for my Wingmaster I tried to fit a 20" on the Blue Line. It fits into the receiver and the bolt locks up. The major issue is the position of the barrel ring that fits over the magazine tube. My plan is to make a sleeve that fits over the magazine tube that will act as a spacer between the Remington barrel ring and the magazine tube end cap. While the Remington design incorporates a small ball detent on the barrel ring to hold the magazine cap tight the Blue Line uses a sawtooth inner plug that ratchets in the tube cap, so the detent doesn't come into play.

    Anyone anticipate any issues?

Original Blue Line barrel on top, Remington 20" barrel on gun.

    Are they of Chinese manufacture?
It sounds like they use the later version of the 870 magazine cap.
CDNN has offered extra Chinese made barrels for 870 and Mossberg pump guns for a few years.
An 18” barrel with choke tubes is tempting.

Yes, these are Chinese. For under $200. they seem to be a good choice for a beater or to camo up for a deer gun or such. I'm planning on drilling and tapping the receiver and adding a pic rail for a holo sight or red dot for deer hunting.

I use to have an old cheap 870 (not a Wingmaster) that seemed to have the saw tooth design you described.

Sometimes that ball detent gets missing. Oring for an 1100 or one with the inside diameter same as the outside diameter of the magazine tube will slow down/keep the cap from backing off.

well there SHOULD be plenty of options around then..... as said the harrington n richardson and our biggest retailers own branded 870s are both made by them and the bits interchange....
Ive owned the H&R for a fair few years now..actually sold it and then got it back again.... awesome gun that just keeps working.

I finally completed the Remington barrel installation. Just needed a spacer tube to bridge the distance from the front barrel ring to the magazine cap. Made one out of aluminum tubing and then coated it with HK Black Duracoat. The bolt seems to lock up well, although I haven't fired it yet.
