More discussion on swamped barrels.

One reason a builder may want to direct you to a straight barrel, is some of them will just set up a blank in a mill and cut the channel. A swamped barrel takes a bit more work if you aren't used to doing them. I personally could fully inlet a straight or swamped barrel in around eight hours with only hand tools. Some people new to the task peck away at them. Same with inletting locks, I finally figured out there was no reason to be screwing around nearly as much as I did the first few I built. I've done enough that I know to just hog the channel out with chisels and gouges, leaving the edges intact, then get down to the proper fitting.
