I would say 100% that is not real Garmin. Maybe a reverse engineered copy, but not real and will have no warranty.

However, I once bought a little electronic widget from China. $2.00 with free shipping! Two bucks!
The day after it arrived, I was walking through Walmart and saw the absolute, virtually identical item for $19.95!!
And we used to think a 100% markup/profit margin was excessive...
Yes, it cost Garmin a few bucks to create the thing, but now it's being made in Taiwan for about a buck a piece...

How much is the knockoff Garmin? With a little looking you can get a real one for ~$500. I am positive you will get an error when you link it to Garmin and try to get an update. Probably even when you try to link it to your phone (even though I rarely use it that way).
Yeah, I guess I'll save for a bit more and get one from a trusted supplier.
Man!! Have any of you returned something to Amazon lately?? Unreal!! No questions asked and you don't even have to package it. They send you a code. Take the item and the code to a UPS store, with no packaging. Hand them the item and let them scan the code from your phone--> DONE! By the time I get home, they've already given me a refund!
The only way it could be better is if they came to your house to pick it up, and brought beer!!

If the knockoff was $100 and Garmin $500 at best, I might risk the $100. But to only save $150? so the aliexpress price is $450? NEVER
Yeah. I just bought one from Amazon.
I am surely proud to own it!! And I will be much more productive, 'cause so many times I just didn't have the gumption to drag out and set up the conventional chrono along with everything else for shooting.

I saw several had sold for cheap on eBay, under $100.00. So I gave it a try, China seller, Garmin @ $80 or so, plus some postage. Used the Buy It Now, paid immediately, then waited a week or so. No shipping confirmation, no messages, just silence. After 10 days or so, I called customer service, put in a claim. A day or two later, I had my money back, the seller was no longer on eBay. I lost nothing. Just a Chinese scam.
Do these ever go on sale, seems like 600 is the going rate.
Add to your cart and the price is much lower. If not, just delete it, no problem. That's where I got mine.

Well, I'll tell ya, it's expensive but the dam little thing is magic, that's for sure!
I finally got a minute to test mine last evening. I grabbed my pellet gun and headed to the back yard. Everything was against it. Fading light, cluttered area, poor position, only a little .17 pellet to sense, and....
IT NEVER MISSED A SHOT!! It's magic for sure!
The comparison to a conventional chrono with screens, etc.... well there is no comparison at all.
Coolest thing I ever bought!

And it appears they are dang tough!!! Stupid me tested mine for G's and shock! FINALLY received the latest can, Silencerco 46M. Changed out "FLASH SUPP" for an ASR brake on my 450BM AR build I hunt with. This thing makes an inch and a half hole @ 100 with Hornady ammo all day long. First squeeze since last year @ 50 with can, dead on elevation 2 1/2 to the right, what the ====. I unscrew can, second shot, full water bottle went off the bench to right, Garmin off the bench to left bouncing off 6x6 structure and landing in dirt out front. One might say there are no words, well, there were some words! Worked fine the rest of the day and seems fine, I guess we'll see. At least I didn't put a hole in it. Oh, and I hate brakes even more now!!!!
I was shooting my M-82A1 and it blew my spotting scope off the bench. If the break is doing its job it blows hard.

Well, it's a crime that they cost what they do, and I still feel guilty for paying/spending that much, but they are the coolest chrono EVER. Of that there is no doubt!

I just got mine a few weeks ago, but haven't had a chance to use it. I have a lot of work to do with it getting loads sussed out and figuring out what is "actually" happening with the loads I already use most.

Labradar came out with a very similar unit called the LX. Same list price of $599. Slightly different features. Most notably a brighter screen. Also it allows USB cord connection to a laptop whereas the Xero only connects via Bluetooth to a phone and export a CSV file from there. Garmin says they are working on a significant upgrade but no timeline.
I really enjoy my Garmin but if buying now it might be worth investigating the LX as well. With competition hopefully the prices come down.
Labradar is too little too late. And they have a built in peep sight on their design which should tell you something. If they were significantly cheaper then maybe. But trying to sell them for the same MSRP is a joke.
And who downloads CSV files for every shot they take? Shoot your string and write down the velocity and the extreme spread. You have your answer.
Yeah, all the "functionality" people go on about sometimes makes me laugh. What, do you want a product to give you your horoscope, weather forecast, and news headlines too??
If it remembers the velocities and makes a list so I don't have to tote a notepad and pencil, I'm golden. Anything else, I can figure out easily if/when I need it.
But, to each his own... go with all the bells and whistles ya can dream up, or afford.
