Yes sir! Nothing like grandkids! They are so much better than your own kids! As a matter of fact I just got finished celebrating Christmas with both my sons and their families. That in itself is a major accomplishment considering my oldest boy lives in Florida while his mom and I live in Virginia close to my youngest son. Anyway I can’t speak for anybody else but when I was raising my two sons my concerns were making them the best person’s that they could be. Keeping them fed, clothed, and that they had a proper education. Basically raised them to be a productive member of society. I must’ve done something right because they turned out to be pretty good men, Buy anybody’s standards. Now, with the grandkids My main concern is that they have fun when they come to visit Nana and Poppy! If they want chocolate ice cream with chocolate syrup and whipped cream for breakfast, no problem that’s what Poppy gets for them lol! After all if they’re too wired from a sugar high Nana and poppy could always send them home to their parents! Lol not only that but I find I am a lot more patient with my grandkids that I ever was with my sons. It’s just a heck of a lot easier. Their moms and dads have to do all the hard work, wow us grandparents just spoil them to death! It is kind of funny when my boys were younger and they tell me they wanted this or that my stereotypical answer was go get a job and you can buy whatever you want! Meanwhile my granddaughters have me wrapped right around there little fingers. If they say Poppy, I really really want that! As soon as I hear those words, I immediately get out the Calculator! I diligently figure out how much money I have to come up with and whether or not I have to go rob a bank someplace just so I can get them what they want lol!

And to timsmips, the op, congratulations on the new grandchild! Don’t forget to follow my lead and spoil him rotten! Trust me nothing better to see their smiling faces as they’re running toward you to give you a big hug and a kiss.
Take care of my friend we are truly blessed having grandchildren!

No matter how many you have, getting new grandchildren never gets old.

My nine year-old granddaughter once told her teacher at school, "My grandpa knows everything.

    Way cool.

If I knew how much fun Grandkids are, I would have had them first.

And a side benefit is when their diaper gets 'full', you can hand them back..

OK People. Enough of this idle chit-chat.
