New WWII Series - Featuring 100th Bomb Group Coming Jan 2024

I saw a reference to the series and checked into it, looks pretty interesting, probably see some nicely restored aircraft, it's an Apple TV production, 9 parts starting January 26.

Here is one of the trailers:

Got a .22 .30 .32 .357 .38 .40 .41 .44 .45 .480 or .500 S&W cylinder that needs throats honed? 9mm, 10mm/40S&W, 45 ACP pistol barrel that won't "plunk" your handloads? 480 Ruger or 475 Linebaugh cylinder that needs the "step" reamed to 6° 30min chamfer? Will have to watch that. Dad was in the 100th Bomb Wing, 349th squadron (blue knights) during the Cold War

I knew an ex RCAF WWII pilot who used to fly bombers over Germany in that unpleasant event. He was shot down three times, once over the English Channel. twice making it back to England to crash short of the airport. His younger brother - former RCN (Royal Canadian Navy) often mentioned that his brother was 'hard on airplanes".
The link does not mention the other two events.

Thanks for sharing that bit of information.
Younger brother's observation made me smile.

That look on your face, when you shift into 6th gear, but it's not there.

That's a pretty good read. Exemplifies the fight and don't give up no matter what qualities that made the greatest generation, the greatest. 50 sorties and over Germany and 3 hard landings in 90 days. Wow.

If you click on the gallery button there are a bunch of squadron pics, various squadrons.
