This old barn find is coming along nicely, except the last parts I have to install aren't making sense. The screw bolt that holds the ejector, magazine guide and magazine latch is too long and I cannot for the life of me recall it being this way when disassembling the parts for cleaning before bluing.
These are the last of the parts to install, but the long screw bolt is just too long for the application.
The screw for the front magazine guide is way too short to swap it for the long rear screw bolt. It fits perfectly right where it is.
With a mock up of the bottom plate and all parts in their places:
From your experience, is there supposed to be a spring or tube that fits over this long bolt to hold the ejector, mag guide and mag latch firmly onto the bottom of the receiver? It certainly won't work in this form.
No, the bolt does not go through the stock. No provision for this to work. And the trigger guard is only held on by two little screws, so that isn't a solution, either. I'm missing something but the schematic online doesn't quite show me what it is.
Any thoughts?
