    7.62x39 with NOE 310-165hp

This Doe came in around 9:45 this morning standing slightly quartering towards me going left to right, around 100 yards. One shot with a NOE-165 shallow hollow point 75/25 ww/pure sized to .310 over 25 grn of Varget out of my Ruger American Ranch. It averaged around 1776fps (I call it my freedom load) I don’t know how she ran around 50 yards, I center punched her heart destroyed her lungs and made a mess out of the liver.

This makes around 9-10 deer taken with this load and this rifle, does the trick every time,Click image for larger version.

    Well done.
That’s a neat little rifle, too!

Good shooting and looks like a good load combination. I have found that heart/lung shots with cast boolits usually gets runners of 50 to 100 yards . This is due to the low shock to the nervous system and the muscles are still oxygenated, enough to run 100 yards. I have found the Hilar shot to be very effective with instant drop. I havent had a runner since and that been many years. I shoot several boolits with my 7.62x39, mostly powder coated 312 284 or 299 at about 1600 fps. Love the caliber
