If a 41 won't stop it, I wouldn't bet my life on a 44.
Thanks. She likes a 85gr cast boolet with 9.1gr 4227. Seems to hit about anything aimed at.
The '92 is my favourite "fun" gun. I have a full set of originals all over 100years old, 44/40 (1896) 32/20 (1908) 38/40 (1919) and 25/20 (1922). Shoot regularly 2-3 times per week!

That’s a beauty! I have a round barrel version built in 1914, haven’t shot it yet. Mine ejects dummy rounds with extreme prejudice so I am a little worried about losing brass. Glad you are shooting the old girl, that’s what they’re made for after all.
Yup will flip brass into the next county. Darned sure sure cheaper ammo when Lucas McCain was shooting one.
I've also a round barreled 92 rifle in 25-20 from 1907, it has a rather ancient reblue that's about as faded/patinaed as an original blue.
Took a lot of years of buying and swapping, we have mostly 1/2 mag versions but there are a few full mags. I also have this 'custom' 44 Special that was rebuilt using an 1894 manufacture action and full magazine that holds 14 rounds.

A decent number of 92's downunder - as Wallace says predominately short magazines - some reasonable shooters in the south - most that I saw out of Queensland have been "rode hard and put away wet" 32/20 proly about 2/3 of the ones I have seen.
I had a 38/40 for a number of years, found in an old fellers wardrobe after he passed. He bought it new with 100winchester cases and had shot a few less than 50 when I got it - gun was mint internally, 100% bore, some external rust from long term storage - I sold it to a collector - thought I had a better plan at the time .
(I dont have the cash or the interest in collector pieces) Later years I built one I like better
The long barrel at the bottom 26" tube - built on an original 32/20 action we had converted (rebarrelled) to 25/20 years before
lots of work in changing a 92 over from small case (25/20-32/20) to run properly with the larger case (38/40 - 44/40) not something you would do based on economics - but if you enjoy a challenge ? ............. (life is boring without challenges)

Get a replacement ejector spring and shorten it. Empties will fall at your feet.
