Forgot, how about a 460 S&W (Ruger made them) or a 500 S&W. If you want to go different, then there is also the 445 super mag (I have one in a Handi rifle, but would like a #1 in that caliber) and you can shoot 44 special or 44 mag rounds in it.

35 Weiland because I have brass and dies.
40-82 WCF because I have brass and dies and a chamber reamer.
Definitely find the making in advance.

A Ruger #1 in .38-55 would be pretty classy. Plenty for deer and mild on the shoulder. Tons of cast boolits well suited for it.
I have a Ruger no 1 in 40-65, and love the thing, it shoots cloverleafs at 100 yds with a old school 10x Weaver steel tube and 325 gr cast and Unique.
not quite a 35 cal or straight wall cartridge but the 338 lapua is an interesting caliber cartridge. but if you want something more pedestrian both the 35 and 375 whelen are calibers that really have a lot going for them
9.3x57 is almost a straight wall. Brass formed from 8x57. You can even get rimmed brass.
