    35 Rem strikes again

Yep, my ole JC Higgins in 35R scored again this afternoon. Was a breezy afternoon 50ish, but felt much cooler.
It was about 75 yds. and walking, and a bit faster than I judged. But the 200gr Lee's RCBS clone bored straight through both lungs.
I was aiming at the shoulder, but was just a wee bit behind. He ran 100 yds. maybe a tad more before pilling up.
Beeing, it's Halloween. I am calling him a devil deer.with his 10" spikes.
I have seen several of these useless breeders so one less.

Good to get him out of the gene pool and into the freezer.

Forkhorns make good eating in my experience.

    Nicely done.
I truly believe we need to get back to basics.

    Get right with the Lord.
    Get back to the land.
Get back to thinking like our forefathers thought.

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you
and give you His peace. Let all of the earth – all of His creation – worship and praise His name! Make His
    praise glorious!

I have a JC Higgins Marlin in 35 Reminton myself. Great shooter and doesn't have microgroove rifling. I have to say it is no flyweight scoped with a 2-7x Leupold. Seems the 35's are a bit heavier than the 30-30's for some reason.

Like the 35s with the RCBS plain base PCed 200s if you get them in the boiler room it anchors them quick. Good buck.
