    Vest pocket pistol

Got this little .31 at the gunshow this past weekend. Just finished putting a bit of engraving on it. Far from perfect but looks ok at a distance.

    That's cool.

Now you're ready to get into a crooked poker game in any smoke filled saloon.

Awesome! Are the grips ivory or reproduction?

Repro. Maybe a new set of grips should be made.

I couldn't see any mistakes. Even when looking at the closeup pictures. Now all you need is one of those wrist rigs like James West wore in the Wild, Wild, West, TV show.

They used to make conversion kits for those to turn them into .22 rimfire.
Very nice engraving by the way.

A conversation kit would be dandy.

That would make me want to acquire a pistol for it alone.

Very nice work on the engraving.

Making reloadable 31 cases isn't all that difficult. I had a Sharps pepper box that was definitely fun to shoot with them in it. I also wish I had a wrist rig as seen in Django!
Wish I still had it so I could send it to you for engraving!

This little pistol takes percussion cap. 8-10gr 3f and a .310 ball. Institutions say no patch. Have not shot it yet. Probably should before the next poker game.

    Nice work!
That’s similar to the Butler .22 Short Derringer I had long ago- but way fancier.

I don’t own an air graver so this is old fashioned hammer and chisel engraving with a bit of hand push line graver for shading. Learning more with each project.

Would love to have a GRS or Lindsay air graver but they are quite pricey.

Beautiful engraving. I’ve often thought it would be nice to try it. Unfortunately, I already have too many projects going for now.
