    Egyptian Maadi AK parts set

A friend of mine unexpectedly passed away, and I am trying to help his widow unload some of his firearm/shooting stuff.

I have a parts kit for an Egyptian AK. The gas block, trunnion and muzzle are still gunked over with cosmoline. It also has an American made receiver blank that is partly finished. It comes with wooden furniture.

It looks like it would build a cool rifle. The writing is in Arabic.

I will post some photos when I get back to my desk.

Apparently these Egyptian kits have not been on the market for a lot of years. I've seen them going as high as $1000.

I think $600 would be a price that could make us both happy. Since it's a kit, I would be able to ship it (legally) without FFL. It should fit in a USPS flat rate box.

If anyone is interested, please PM me.

Be careful as some states will probably consider that a ghost gun now. I am pretty sure shipping to NJ would be illegal but you should contact an FFL at the very least to make sure.

Is that right? I will do some more research than. I got my parts and built mine, it must be going on 10 years now.

I know an FFL here in town, I will take it there and see if he can clarify the definitions for me. The last group I want to get in trouble with is the ATF!

Thank you for the heads up.

    John,

If the flat is bent, and the holes drilled / rails cut, it's a receiver. If it's a blank (no holes and whatnot), it's 80%. BUT... That still falls under the Frames and Receivers rule as I understand it. Best bet is just to let whoever buys it source their own receiver.

I'm interested when you get it figured out. May be close enough to avoid shipping ??

not legal to ship to NJ + at least 3 other states that i know of - only way a individual can assemble any fire arm is thru use of a legally purchased serialed number receiver - any thing else requires a NJ firearms manufacturers license - what size flat rate box will accept the barrel ?

I apologize for my delay. I finally ended up with Covid. Doing ok now, but a rough stretch in there.

Here are photos of the kit. I have not included photos of the receiver, because I unfortunately don't think I can legally sell it (it is partly finished, and I think it's over 80%. )

I'd like to move this thing. I posted it on a trader site, and had 2 people not show up to check it out. The parts will fit in a flat rate box, so should ship pretty cheap.
