    Favorite 10mm Cast bullet

    What is it??

I have a few that I really like allot.

For the $$ The LEE 401-175 TC bullet ia awesome! Its a dandy in the 40 as well.

The MP 403-160 shoots very fine with BD and Power Pistol. Adjusting alloy can get me beautiful mushrooms @ 1350 fps or 1100 in the 40.

The Good old Lyman 401043 altho designed for the 38/40 (original 10mm) is a dandy in the 40/10 too!

I have a couple 200g WFN molds all have been good...
I just grabbed a 4cav Brass 200 cause it was 116 on sale!!

Ill have ta choose the MP 403-160 hp

I use the same Lee 401-175-TC in my 10mm’s. I’ve shot hogs out to 120 yards with the carbine, DRT.
Seems like an easy boolit to cast and load. I use No. 9 powder. Pistol around 1200, carbine at 1600 fps.

With a few 10mm (and a .38-40 Blackhawk) arms, I have moulds in this calibre from H&G, Lyman, RCBS, MP, and Accurate. You asked re "favourite"? Without a doubt mine is the Accurate #40 195G. They shoot marvelously in revolvers -- accurate and no leading -- plus I think I may have had but one FTF in a semi-auto which I later attributed to being my fault (case too fat near base).Click image for larger version.

For 10mm it has to be a 200gr. or more for me. If I am shooting lighter than that they get shot in my 40"s.

My favorite is my LBT 220 WFN w/GC. Years ago, I called Veral to talk to him about a 45-70 mould and after finishing that conversation I asked about the 10mm. We talked about it and he mentioned he had a "blem" 10mm WFN mould that had been cut a "bit heavy" that was available, so I got that from him also. I wasn't necessarily looking for heavier than 200 gr. for the 10mm but it was a good deal, so I jumped on it. Great mould, all my LBT moulds are my best casting moulds ever. So with a nice hard alloy it comes out as a finished bullet @ 220 grs. It shoots great in all my 10mm's but my 610 revolver specifically loves that bullet.

In second place is the NOE 200 gr. WFN that I got in a 4 cavity so I can make them in larger quantities. This bullet has become my regular shooting bullet out of all my 10mm's. These I load on my progressive press using Longshot for a nice powerful "shooting" load.

In the pics below L to R:

200 gr. bullet pulled from some early Double Tap 10mm ammo
LBT 220 gr. WFN (sample bullet I just put a GC on and sized)

I'd have to agree the Lee mold as well. I only use it in a 40 and targets. It molds well, easy to size/PC and does not lead the barrel...ymmv
