Anybody loading 380 ACP on Hornady LNL AP?

I went to setup my LNL-AP with the case activated powder drop for 380 last night, and realized that the cases seem too short to activate the powder drop. Even with it all the way down in the die, right against the shell plate, it only rotates halfway up. This is with a PTX insert and the new style linkage with no adjustment on the vertical arm. Anybody else found this or, even better, found a work around?

I bought my LNL back about "14" and we did a run of 380 and the powder drop worked on it. We had a different problem however ... that of powder getting bumped out over the case mouth. We were using red dot and it fairly filled the short case enough so that with a slight jerk of the press shell plate rotation we ended up with powder getting into the priming mechanism.

Do you have the right sleeve in the drop tube part the sticks down past the base part of the powder measure?
There is 2-3 of them with different lengths for the powder measure for different length cases.
It sounds like you don't have one in it.

I load 9mm on mine, and there is plenty of 'throw' for them, and they're just a tiny bit taller than .380s.

Ask Professor youtube, he has a few classes on setting up the new linkage.

I just transferred the expander from my 9mm case activated adapter...I kind of forgot that the stock ones existed until you said it. I'll find the pistol one and try that.

Using the pistol drop tube fixed it, dumb me for not remembering that in the first place. I dug through my dies and got the Hornady 9mm/380 expander out, so that will come into play instead of the PTX insert.
