    First Batch 44 Magnum

I poured a few Lee 429-240-2R boolits on Monday then powder coated them yesterday. Primer will be here today and I bought 400 Magnum cases from member pete501 last week. Going to make a few loads with CFE Pistol to find the sweet spot for my New Rossi R2 44 Magnum 20" that is currently serving a 10 day sentence for entering the state of Cali. lol

Those are some nice lookin boolets! I do notice a few with rounded bases, truly don't like to be critical, but I usually recycle those right away. Hope your Rossi gets an early release! hc18flyer

I little word of caution, you may want to weigh those. I use the same mold and mine tend to drop at 250 grns.

Now, are you trying to bring the Rainbow Coalition to Cast Boolits?

Those look great. I quit worrying about rounded bases, minor wrinkles and barrel fit, when I realized I was just burning powder, making noise and creating recycle lead for someone else. If I hit a 6" steel plate at 25 yds with a hand gun I'm smiling. If I do the same with a rifle at 100 yds we are having fun. If I want accuracy I go to my serious varmint guns and big game rifles. The exception is when playing with the .45-2.4 Shiloh Sharps then I'm very particular with my casting quality and fit.

I get 250 grns with mine also. Not to many loads for the .44 with a 250 grn

(copypaste thumbs up, but it didn't work)
Enjoy your new rifle. I'm sure that boolit will work out just fine.

they look great for your intended purpose...... different colour for different load levels, awesome idea.... there are an absolute **** ton of load data out there for 44 magnum and 250 grn projectile AND even if there wasnt its not a whole mile away from 240grn so not hard to tweak it a bit....any start for 240 should be ball park 250.....
now try finding data for a 350grn in 44 magnum now thats HARD WORK.

I too save and shoot the imperfect boolits. Those in the OP look really nice.
Sometimes, people at the range get this really serious, bewildered look when they see the pretty colors I use. No one has ever teased me.

I reread the responses twice (or more) and failed to decern your distain, unless you were posting for show n tell purposes. If so, this location may have served you better: https://castboolits.gunloads.com/sho...lets-pics-only

Surprised no one said anything warning of shooting round nose bullets in tubular magazines.
