MEC600 in 410

I've got a chance to buy three mec600 presses. Two are in 410 and one in 28ga. Id like to keep the 28.

Question is how hard do you think it would be to get rid of the two 410's ?

Shotshell reloading equipment doesn’t bring much in the used market though.

Not really sure why, I have been given a 600jr and Grabber after the original owners passed away and with a little cleaning, they work perfectly.

I did get a couple of Hornady 366’s awhile back, two presses, two conversions. I set one up in 28 ga and got more for it, than both with the conversions cost me.

Shot shell loading makes a bit more sense in the more expensive odd balls out there. These days even the cheap stuff uses pretty good wads, so the margins get pretty small vs’s the input of work…

If the price is right they will probably go fast. I waited 6 months for one to become available when I got mine.

Just be aware, if you are selling the transaction has to go thru S&S.

Used to I'd say you would have a hard time selling a 410 loader but with so many turkey hunters now using 410's with all the newer exotic high-density shot I would think they would sell relatively fast.

Skeet is shot with a 410. Its one of the 4 gauges used. 12,20, 28, 410. The sell for about 1/2 of what a new one costs.

.410 shells are the rarest to find nowadays and $25/25 if you do find them.
I lucked into a Mec 600 Jr. .410 loader for $75 at a pawn shop when the ammo drought started.
One of the smartest things I’ve done is buy that loader.
They should sell faster than a 12 or 20 gauge loader.

Seems like the 410 and 28 are easier to sell. 12 and 20 gauge you can still find cheap shells. Bu with 410 and 28 shells they are a lot harder to find and a lot more expensive than 12and 20 gauge shells.

If you look on everybody’s favorite auction site, you’ll find that 28 & 410 shotshell loaders command a 50-100% greater asking price. I looked hard for one “priced reasonably” until a friend at my shooting club offered me his spare 600 Jr. At a “friends and family”

All 28 and .410 loaders always cost more than the other gauges. At Midway a Hornady DL366 in 12 ga is $1400.00 the .410 is $1685.00 28 ga is 1665.00. I paid $600 used for mine and it is a finicky thing. My DL26612 ga cost me $50 and was nearly new. My DL266 .410 cost me $250 and was also in nice shape.

At Midway Mec .410 Presses are $270 but the 12 ga machines are only $247

If those machines are clean and in nice condition I's ask $225 for them over at www.trapshooters.com. They will sell instantly. Everything .410 and 28 ga. sells instantly there.

I got my Citori .410 Sporting Clays Edition O/U for $2000. It was on the site for exactly 7 minutes. There was a 28 ga. sister to it that lasted exactly 1 minute! Both these guns had less than 100 rounds thru them and were essentially new. Mine even came with an Americase and 5 Briley choke tubes too.
